Third Grade
Welcome to Auburn Elementary Third Grade!
We offer a Third Grade program that is aligned with the Michigan Department of Education's Core Content State Standards. Our program is designed to support individualized learning through systems of intervention, support and activities such as:
- Differentiated Instruction (Multiple Intelligences Research)
- Collaborative Learning (Kagan Cooperative Learning Structures)
- Tier II Guided Intervention Program. This program individualizes student learning goals by focusing our staff on informal and formal student achievement data to identify Core Content State Standards that challenge students and Standards students have mastered. Each Trimester student data is reviewed, collaboratively, by grade level staff in the areas of English Language Arts and Mathematics content. Students are then grouped, within their grade level or classroom and with their peers, according to their content strengths and weaknesses. Students will receive instruction and enrichment that focuses on the acquisition and enhancement of the Core Content State Standards and then are reassessed for mastery.
- On-going Progress Monitoring using the Michigan Literacy Progress Profile and NWEA (Northwest Educational Assessment).
- Instructional Technology (video projection systems w/ document cameras, MOBI device and I-Pad)
- Michigan Culminating Field Trip Experience (Lansing Capital City Tour or Mackinaw City Tour)
