Vision and Hearing screening for new Kindergarten students
The state of Michigan requires children to have their vision and hearing tested before entering kindergarten. The main purpose of screening children of this age is to detect any vision and hearing defects and/or loss as early as possible. Difficulties can often be remedied if they are discovered at a time when they are easiest to treat.
If your kindergartner has not yet been screened, please note that the Bay County Health Department will be doing vision and hearing screening free of charge. [info and schedule]. After the screening you will be given a paper indicating the results for your child's file at school, please get this to the Auburn Elementary Office as soon as possible. As our offices are closed over the summer, you may mail the results to:
Auburn Elementary
301 E Midland Road
Auburn, MI 48611
