Ways You Can Help Our School

What Can I Do To Help My Child in 2009-10?
There are fabulous things happening at school this year and many ways you can get involved! Whether you are new or returning to Auburn Elementary you should find this informative. Post it on your fridge as a reminder of events where you can volunteer to help, chair, or simply participate in throughout the year. Some are one-time-only events while others are recurring. All help raise money for your child's enrichment at little or no cost to you.

Bake Sales
4:00 - 8:00 p.m. during Parent/ Teacher conferences in the hallway near main entrance.
Fall: Thurs, Oct 22 & Tues, Oct 27
Spring: Thurs, Feb 11 & Tues, Feb. 16
Volunteer to donate baked goods on Tuesday or Thursday for this yummy fundraiser. Or plan to buy your favorites!

Box Tops for Education (and Drawings!)
We receive 10¢ for every box top submitted. Box tops are on hundreds of General Mills and Betty Crocker products, many of which you are probably already purchasing. Be sure to write your child's' name on each box top; monthly drawings are held for cool prizes. Drop clipped box tops in a collection box at the school office.

Buffalo Wild Wings Night
April (TBD) at Midland location. Take a coupon with you and 20% of your purchases will be donated to the school.

Burger King Nights
Held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month (except Sept.), Auburn Elementary earns a percentage of sales.

Reminder notes are in our monthly school newsletter and a coupon is sent home with each student. The coupons must be submitted at the time of your order (inside or drive-thru).

Campbell Soup Labels for Education
We only need the UPC section on the labels (no need to send in the whole label). Auburn Elementary has earned jump ropes, balls and other outdoor equipment for our student. A drop box is located in the school office.

Capri Sun Pouches
We receive 2¢ for each Capri Sun, Kool-Aid and Honest Kids (Sam's Club product) juice pouch. Remove the straw, cut off the top of the pouch, rinse out and dry. Save them at home and return to school café.

Craft Night
Dates: TBD
A monthly Friday Night Crop will be held at the school's Media Center from 4-10 p.m. Cost: $5 per person (BYO sodas; snacks extra).

Fall Fundraiser
A catalog with great holiday gift ideas will be sent home in September. Money must be collected and submitted with the order forms. Orders will be in before the holiday season.

Gordon Food Service "Fun Funds" Program
Purchasing designated "Fun Funds" items at Gordon's earns money for Auburn Elementary. Regardless of what type of payment you use, GFS will donate to us. The percentage we earn is based on the amount of dollars spent during the quarter by all the Auburn School members. Remember GFS for holiday gatherings. If 40 families spend $40 per month, our school could earn about $2,000 a year in cash rebates. Once you enroll a key tag is mailed to your home. Please scan that prior to your purchases. Applications are available in the school office or at the Gordon Food Service store in Bay City.

Ice Cream Sales
Every Wednesday and Friday during the lunch hour, students can purchase a variety of ice cream/ frozen treats for $.50 each. Proceeds are for the 5th Grade Field Trip to Camp Timbers.

Ink Cartridges
Don't toss out your used inkjet printer cartridges! Auburn Elementary receives a discount on new cartridges when we submit the used cartridges. There is a collection box in the school office.

Meijer Rewards
Meijer Rewards are earned by using a Meijer credit card, cash or debit card at any Meijer store. We will receive 1% of all eligible purchases with a Meijer credit card at a Meijer store and 0.5% of all purchases made with cash or debit. Once you sign up, you will receive a key tag to scan prior to your purchase. Sign up forms are available at school, at Meijer or online at Meijer.com/MCRmember, or call 1-800-962-7011. Our school code is 661687.

Scrap Booking Event
An all-day crop to be held in March. Date: TBD. Watch for flyer.

Target
Every time you use your Target Visa, Target Credit Card or Target Check Card at any Target store or Target.com, we earn 1% of the purchased amount. In addition, anywhere else you use our Target Visa, our school will earn ½% of the purchased amount. If you already have one of the above cards, be sure to register it to Auburn Elementary School by calling 1-800-316-6142 or visit www.target.com/tcoe and enter the code 1047. Tell your family, friends and neighbors to register their cards to our school too!

Younker's Community Day Event
Younker's and Elder-Beerman stores provide Coupon Booklets for various non-profit organizations for fundraising. The coupon booklets are sold for $5 each. Within each booklet is a $10 coupon for use at their stores on Sat., November 14, 2009. The PTO will sell the Coupon Booklets again this year; 100% of the $5 cost is ours to keep.
